History of the Vietnam Air Force in the Vietnam War.
Vietnam Air Force T-28B on target in the fall of 1963.
The T-28B in the above two photographs started life as a U.S. Navy aircraft (137806).
On 21 July 1961 the aircraft was transferred to the U.S. Air Force and became 53-8363.
Under this registration it was flown as part of the Farm Gate project.
The T-28's were marked in SVNAF livery but were never transferred to the SVNAF.
Aircraft was flown by the 1st Air Commando Squadron - 34th Tactical Group out of Danang Air Base.
Under the Military Assistance Program (MAP) the aircraft ultimately went to the Royal Lao Air Force on 22 March 1965.
