History of the Vietnam Air Force in the Vietnam War.

Vietnam Air Force T-28B on target in the fall of 1963.

The T-28B in the above two photographs started life as a U.S. Navy aircraft  (137806).

On 21 July 1961 the aircraft was transferred to the U.S. Air Force and became 53-8363.

Under this registration it was flown as part of the Farm Gate project.

The T-28's were marked in SVNAF livery but were never transferred to the SVNAF.

Aircraft was flown by the 1st Air Commando Squadron - 34th Tactical Group out of Danang Air Base.

Under the Military Assistance Program (MAP) the aircraft ultimately went to the Royal Lao Air Force on 22 March 1965.
